yet another first...

well, only because i said i would run everyday did i go out a mile today in the slush, snow, and ice. i hate having wet feet which lead to this first. i ran in my gortex hiking boots. it felt like running with weighted feet. one mile was fine, but i am going nine tomorrow and must come up with a better plan. quickly! also, got registered finally for the okc half-marathon. i figure if i'm actually going to run nine tomorrow there better be a really good reason. i committed. wish me luck...

p.s. i made it a whole month... just 11 more to go.

  1. Great Job Kristin! What a fun goal, and by fun, I mean, glad it is you and not me ;)! I hate running in the freezing cold and am ready for some good weather. Good luck on your half, You will rock it!

  2. Hi Kristin,
Not sure if you read these comments or not, but I ran across your blog from a post that Chris had on Facebook. After living in Minnesota for three winters, I have a suggestion for you with the cold feet issue. I use something called Hyperlite Stormsocks. You can get them at REI. I will try to post the link. I originally got them for biking, but also use them for running when it is wet and snowy. I still wear regular running shoes and use the liners with smart wool long socks and never have wet feet. Sounds like you and Ardell are really doing some great runs. Wish I was closer to join you! Twin Cities has an awesome marathon if you are ever interested... you have a free place to stay. Take care, Hannah (Morse) Carrithers
